The Callander to Strathyre Cycleway is a nine mile scenic route (National Cycle Route 7) following the old Caledonian Railway line along the western side of Loch Lubnaig, following Callander to Strathyre (passing the waterfalls at the Pass of Leny), Balquhidder (where Rob Roy is buried) and Lochearnhead, continuing on to Killin and Crianlarich, the off road cycle tracks are perfect for the safety of all walkers & cyclists away from the busy main roads giving time for you to really enjoy the spectacular countryside and wildlife.

Bicycle hire is available locally from these locations

  • Scottish cycle hire (Mounter Bikes) Callander - situated in the town square to the right-hand side of the Tourist Information Centre at the Rob-Roy Exhibition.

  • Wheels Invertrossachs Road, Callander - located 1 mile out of Callander north towards Loch Lubnaig.

  • Loch Katrine Steamship, Sir Walter Scott - Let the captain take charge and relax on Loch Katrine and enjoy the stunning scenery.

  • Fishing is available locally in many of the rivers and lochs from salmon and sea trout to brown trout. Permits are available from local stores.
